Christmas Events at TSC

Please come along and have fun during the festive season whilst also supporting your club!

SUNDAY 5th DECEMBER is a day full of Christmas cheer, with fun activities and a wonderful Christmas Fayre

10am to midday:

The chance to have a go at learning a new crafting skill; glass decorating or fun fondant edible decorations. All materials provided plus tea/coffee and mince pie included in the very reasonable price of £5 – what a bargain and fun for the whole family. Please book on webcollect https://webcollect.org.uk/tudorsc/event/christmas-craft-workshop

2pm to 5pm:

Lots of craft stalls with many handmade gift ideas and products, there’s sure to be something for everyone. (Most stall holders will be taking cash payment only)

There will be hot snacks and goodies served at the galley and the bar will be open (The galley and bar remain cashless payment only)

Don’t forget to book your lovely home cooked Christmas lunch at the club; a delicious three course meal – only £14 for adults, £7 for children up to age 12 and £3 for children under 5. Please book by 10th December to avoid disappointment. Lunch is followed by a Christmas raffle and later with carol singing by candlelight. Please book on webcollect.

New First Aid Box

Hi All Tudor members,

Please note that a new FIRST AID BOX has been positioned on the wall in the club lobby directly beneath the defibrillator, the unit is held in place by flexible plastic lugs which allow for a simple “Pull” removal using the handle at the top. Please spread the word to other members to avoid loss of time in an emergency.

By the way a new Stainless steel outboard test tank is on order and should be in operation within a week or so.

Waiting for the Tide

There are new reporting procedures coming in place from 1st January 2022 detailed under Notice 8: sailing your pleasure craft too and from the UK which can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/notice-8-sailing-your-pleasure-craft-to-and-from-the-uk/notice-8-sailing-your-pleasure-craft-to-and-from-the-uk. There are a number of links to follow from there, including to National Yachtline, which is the number you call when you arrive from outside the UK or the Channel Islands (https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/hm-revenue-customs/contact/national-yachtline). I haven’t fully got my head around it, and some things relating to sailing out of UK waters and back seem to still be in flux, but a good place to start is with the RYA (who are working hard to try and sort things out and get some clarity), details can be found at: https://www.rya.org.uk/knowledge/external-affairs/brexit.

On a slightly lighter note, there’s an attached PDF with more details about this weekends Christmas Fayre.

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address, it is always nice to hear from members. Any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds would be most welcome.

Let’s be careful out there.
