Family & Friends Friday – May 3rd
Please join us for an evening of Sea Shanties with Jim Splice and the Mainbrace. The bar will be open from 6.30pm and the shanties, hornpipes, jigs, and reels from 7pm. Feel free to bring your supper or a takeaway and make an evening of it with your friends, family, and fellow pirates.
Our Club, Our Success
We are delighted to see a packed ‘on the water’ calendar for our 75th year. The club wants to support as many on the water events as we can with food afterwards. However it simply can’t happen without more galley support. We need people who like to cook, or BBQ, put together ploughman’s, co-ordinate ‘bring a board’, bake, serve, wash up etc. In short, on the water events will need more co-ordinators and contributors if you’d like food provided after your events.
Our club, our success …
Please contact me asap to let me know how you can contribute.
Thank you

Basingstoke Canal trip
We are hoping to put on a kayak trip to Basingstoke Canal and currently canvassing opinion on the 18 or 19th May dates.
There’s a poll on the WOW and Paddlers WhatsApp groups but you can also e-mail terrijohnson@btinternet.com to express a preference on dates and confirm if you are able to transport your kayak and/or help others.
Monday paddle in company
Weather permitting 😎 the Monday paddle in company sessions have begun again so we hope as many of you can join us as possible for some informal and fun times on the water. Keep an eye on the paddle/wow WhatsApp groups for weather updates but generally we aim to launch by 6pm.

There was a recent Practial Boat Owner article published on their website about checking your shore power cable and the dangers it can present. Not only an interesting read for cruiser owners, but also relevant to extension cables used in the compound. You can read it at: https://www.pbo.co.uk/news/warning-to-check-the-shore-power-cable-every-time-you-plug-it-into-your-boat-86163
To round off I’m going to do both a plug and a callout for the social committee. On Wednesday last week they provided a fantastic spread for the PLSA AGM that was hosted at Tudor. So first, a big thank you to Inga et al. for representing the club so well and providing the food and bar cover. Secondly, and I had a great chat with Inga about this, as per the Social New section above, we need volunteers to help fun club events. It covers your club duty as well as being enjoyable and, for newer members, a great way to get to know the club and other members. Volunteers are the life blood of Tudor, and what make it such a great club to be a member of.
As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address, it is always nice to hear from members. Any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds always most welcome.
Let’s be careful out there.
