We really hope that you are able to join us for this celebration of sailing achievement; tickets are available via web-collect (https://webcollect.org.uk/tudorsc/event/prizegiving-dinner) or can be booked via myself or Hannah Barnes.

We would love to see the club full and encourage members and guests to attend either for the whole evening or just the prize giving. Tickets are not required if you would like to just come to the prize giving. The Prize giving ceremony will take place after the dinner, no earlier than 9pm. The meal is being cooked and prepared by the Commodore personally so please support her!

Maintenance Hours

The club is increasing the maintenance time spent on our tractors. They are a valuable asset we would like to keep for many years. If you are a technical or mechanically inclined person that can work on their own this might be for you. We have the summer months to work with them to get ready for recovery next year. If this applies to you and would like to know more please send an email to the Moorings Bosuns address found on the website.

Quartermaster’s Notes

  1. The spare tyres under the workshop table are for club boat trolleys (Nemo, Bosun’s Tender, Optimists & 3 new dinghies) and wheel barrows.
  2. Please use the A4 diary, above the pigeon holes in the Club lounge, to book the Slip, Bosun’s Tender and Road Trailer.
  3. Maintenance hours (negotiable) are available for work on: Optimist Box, Optimist rudders & centre boards, cleaning and painting the hoist, fitting a keel to the Bosun’s tender, fixing grab handles to RIB Marlin, making-up a blue plug extension cable & cable tidy for the pressure washer, purchasing & fitting connectors to the Opi rack, fitting a GRP/rubber wear band to RIB Nemo’s keel.
  4. Materials required: epoxy resin.
  5. I’m often at the Club on Monday mornings from 09:30, if you’re still getting paid for working during the day (or night!), please e-mail or phone to arrange a more convenient time to meet & find out more.

Gig Rowing

This coming Saturday 18th March the Gig will be on the water for an Easy Rowing session at 1000hrs. These sessions are open to all club members and will only last approx. 30 minutes on the water. They are for a bit of nautical fun. Kit needed: A buoyancy aid of some sort, wet boots or wellies, gloves and a windcheater over some layers. If possible let me know by email if you are “in” but if you cannot decide until the day, just turn up and I am sure we will fit you in.

Any members who have tried the Gig and would like to engage in a regular weekly row please email me and I will put your name on our core regulars email group.
